Edison Township is set to receive a healthcare kiosk from Middlesex County, as authorized by a recent Council resolution adopting a memorandum of understanding, according to a Patch report.

This fully automated kiosk will provide 24-hour free access to essential healthcare supplies and information on behavioral health resources. Its purpose is to support public health and assist residents in their wellness and recovery journeys, offering a discreet alternative to traditional pharmacies and service providers for harm reduction supplies, especially during off-hours.

The exact location of the kiosk within Edison has not yet been announced. Middlesex County previously installed similar healthcare kiosks in New Brunswick and Woodbridge in October 2024, which were stocked with Narcan, fentanyl and xylazine testing strips, among other resources.

This initiative is funded by a federal settlement with pharmaceutical companies involved in the opioid supply chain.
