The Alachua County Tax Collector’s Office has launched self-service kiosks for vehicle registration renewals at two Publix supermarket locations in Gainesville and Newberry. This initiative aims to provide residents with a more convenient option for renewing their vehicle registrations, according to an Alachua County News report.

The kiosks allow customers to complete their renewals quickly, typically in minutes, without needing an appointment or waiting in line. Users need their renewal notice, license plate number and a form of payment to receive their new decal on the spot.

«Our goal is always to make services more accessible and convenient for Alachua County residents,» tax collector John Power told the news outlet. «These new kiosks provide a fast, secure, and user-friendly way to complete a common transaction while doing your grocery shopping.»

The kiosks are accessible during regular Publix store hours and accept credit and debit card payments. While operated by a third-party vendor, additional fees apply for using the service. This program is part of the tax collector’s broader effort to enhance service delivery through innovative solutions and community collaborations.
