Vidir launches automated stadium merch vending

Vidir Solutions, a company specializing in automated storage and retrieval systems, has launched its Merchandise Vending Machine. Its inaugural installation took place at the Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ home opener on June 12, 2025. The vending machine aims to streamline merchandise sales and enhance the fan experience at sporting events, according to a press release.

The automated unit is designed to store inventory in a compact space, improving the speed of service and maximizing on-hand inventory. It can store items up to 30 feet high and deliver purchased goods to customers in approximately 30 seconds. This marks the first instance of such a machine being used at a North American sporting event.

Beyond the sports and entertainment sector, Vidir’s automated retail solutions are already in use at Micro Center locations across the United States, where they reportedly assist retailers with inventory management, stockout reduction, sales increases and loss prevention.

«We’re excited to launch the Merchandise Vending Machine at the Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ home opener,» Carissa Rempel, co-owner at Vidir Solutions, said in the release. «This product not only enhances the game-day experience by offering quick access to fan gear but also supports operational efficiency with its easy installation and fully assembled delivery.»

The company views this deployment as a step toward the future of fan engagement in stadiums.
