Scala has successfully deployed its Virtual Information Display kiosks, a digital wayfinding and virtual concierge solution, at Terminals 1 and 3 of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, according to a press release. The system is designed to assist the more than 79 million passengers the airport serves annually.

The custom kiosks aim to streamline navigation, particularly for first-time travelers. Key features include 3D maps with live location tracking to guide passengers to gates and amenities, real-time flight information accessible by scanning a boarding pass and a 24/7 live video call function for immediate, personalized support from a virtual agent.

The implementation is part of DIAL’s broader initiative to improve the traveler experience through innovative technology, especially following the expansion of Terminal 1. The kiosks are intended to resolve challenges in disseminating information effectively and to provide passengers with a modern, user-friendly support system.

«VID is not just a kiosk, it is a companion designed to redefine how passengers interact with their airport environment,» Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO of DIAL, said in the release. «It is another step towards transforming the airport experience, making it simpler, smarter and more seamless for passengers.»
