Retail technology provider Diebold Nixdorf and retail management software company LOC Software have forged a partnership aimed at simplifying the implementation of self-checkout systems for retailers and improving the customer experience, according to a Progressive Grocer report.
The collaboration will see LOC Software’s ThriVersA software run natively on Diebold Nixdorf’s self-checkout and kiosk hardware. This integration allows retailers to use a single database for all in-store transactions, whether through self-service kiosks, traditional point-of-sale terminals or mobile devices. The combined solution is designed to offer a fast, efficient, and user-friendly system for consumers. Diebold Nixdorf will primarily manufacture the hardware at its global headquarters in North Canton, Ohio.
This partnership emphasizes an Open Retailing approach, which facilitates seamless integration between different technologies. «The Open Retailing approach is a key element of Diebold Nixdorf’s self-service solution design, ensuring a smooth interaction of both solutions,» Ed McCabe, head of retail sales North America at Diebold Nixdorf, told the news outlet.
The enhanced self-checkout systems are now available to grocery and convenience store operators.
