Intersection and LinkNYC have launched a Self-Service Ad Portal. For the first time, businesses of any size can launch campaigns across LinkNYC’s 4,000-plus digital kiosks, tapping into high-traffic streetscapes across all five boroughs in New York City, according to a press release.
LinkNYC is a public-private partnership that created the largest free public Wi-Fi network in the world.
The portal is a major upgrade to the city’s LinkLocal program, which delivered over $4 million in free ad space to local businesses and nonprofits in 2024. With expanded free placements, new creative tools and a lower cost of entry for paid campaigns, LinkNYC becomes a true equalizer in the OOH space, according to the release.
The tool is designed to make it easier to launch hyperlocal campaigns, choose specific kiosks by neighborhood, and build polished ads using new customizable templates, logos, QR codes and more.
The update also includes customizable advertising templates and colors, the ability to add a logo or QR code and an interactive map to help advertisers select optimal LinkNYC locations.
«These upgrades to LinkLocal will provide hundreds more community-based businesses and nonprofits with opportunities to amplify their messaging through the most coveted out-of-home advertising space in New York City,» Margaux Knee, chief administrative officer of LinkNYC, said in the release.
The LinkNYC Self-Service Portal is also the home of LinkDirect, Intersection’s offering for purchasing larger, branded LinkNYC campaigns.
«LinkNYC is the ideal platform for New York City’s vibrant small business community,» Jonathan Fuller, chief revenue officer at Intersection, said in the release. «With thousands of LinkNYC kiosks across all five boroughs, we’re excited to help local businesses of all sizes and budgets connect with their neighborhoods in a meaningful way.»
