A recently installed telephone and information kiosk in Hastings town center, in Sussex, England, has drawn criticism from residents who are calling its an «eyesore.»
The dark gray structure, located near Wellington Place, across from businesses including McDonald’s and Poundstretcher, is intended to eventually feature a public telephone and electronic advertising panels, according to a Sussex world report.
A Hastings Borough Council spokesperson told the news outlet the planning application did not meet the criteria for committee discussion, as it lacked the required number of objections or a councilor’s request for review. «Following comments since the kiosk has been installed, there are further conversations about whether it can be relocated,» the spokesperson told the news outlet.
The council also noted the kiosk was installed by a third party and they could not comment on when it would become operational.
