BenQ, which provides visual display and collaboration solutions, successfully integrated its LU9800 projector within the experience at the Washington State Fair.
The BenQ LU9800 delivered an exceptional digital experience for fair attendees in a physically challenging environment containing elements like dust, bright sunlight, and unique mounting constraints, according to a press release.

Fair organizers created an interactive digital projection area designed specifically for children.
Located in one of the fair’s agricultural barns, this installation offered kids an opportunity to engage with a fun game that’s projected directly onto the barn floor.
The barn’s design posed challenges for projection: abundant windows washed out images, concrete floors absorbed light, and the ceiling made mounting difficult. Dust from livestock and fair activities also threatened the projector’s internal components, causing overheating and frequent maintenance.
The 10,000 ANSI lumen LU9800 features a motorized zoom, focus, and lens shift features, allowing for precise image adjustments. The projector delivers WUXGA (1920 x 1200) native resolution.
Additionally, the LU9800’s fully enclosed, IP5X-rated laser engine effectively combats dust, ensuring continuous operation without the need for frequent maintenance. This dustproof design protected the projector from barn particles, extending its lifespan and reducing upkeep for future use.
«From the short distance where we’ve mounted the projector, we can get a really big picture, and it’s truly 10,000 lumens,» Ivan Egorov, CEO of Kids Jump Tech, said in the release. «The projectors’s high brightness guaranteed vivid images even in direct sunlight, and we were able to make precise adjustments to the image’s positioning and focus, despite the ceiling requiring the projector to be mounted in a specific location and position.»
