The City of Toledo has installed a self-service payment kiosk for Department of Public Utilities bills, according to a Spectrum News 1 report. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Thursday to unveil the payment option located at the corner of Madison Avenue and St. Clair Street.
The kiosk allows customers to pay their utility bills using credit or debit cards, cash or checks and provides a receipt upon completion. The payment kiosk is available 24/7 and does not incur any additional fees. Payments made at the kiosk will be posted the next business day.
According to Cindy Geronimo, the city’s commissioner of utilities administration, the kiosk is part of an effort to offer various payment options in response to a decline in in-person walk-in center usage. «So, we just want to encourage everybody to use the new options that are available,» Geronimo told the news outlet.
The city also announced that the utility payment walk-in center will transition to a customer resource center starting May 9th, and they are looking to retire the mail drop box for payments. Another utility payment kiosk is also available at the police station in Scott Park.
