A note from the new editor, a call for contributors

Digital Signage Today is looking for stories, bloggers and experts to share insights and great digital signage wins.

| by Judy Mottl — Editor, RetailCustomerExperience.com & RewardsThatMatter.com

Hello!

I’m Judy Mottl, the new editor here at Digital Signage Today and wanted to introduce myself as well as share some great collaborative opportunities at DST.

I’m a tenured (some may say dinosauer) tech and business reporter, editor and professional journalist who has been writing about news way before the world wide web and then ‘internet’ arrived in our world to give you some indication of all the tech and innovation I’ve covered.

I began initially in local journalism, then moved into B2B journalism and onto computing tech, writing about everything — from the pros and cons of Linux and arrival of the consumer PC, to the dawn of the internet and all that came with the network connectivity, to Y2K to business and retail technology innovation.

For the past nine years I’ve been, and still am, editor of Networld Media Group’s Retail Customer Experience B2B site. During my near decade I also served as editor of Rewards That Matter, Food Truck Operator as well as a daily financial newsletter.

So it’s exciting to take on DST as it’s one of the few industriess and technologies I haven’t covered.

In that regard, that’s where I am hoping the loyal DST readers will provide not only guidance but a helping hand with covering the industry. So send me your news!

I want to create the same dynamic blogger involvement that is deeply ingrained at Retail Customer Experience and inviting readers and innovators to share their expertise and insight. Just email me to get started — editor@digitalsignagetoday.com.

In case you missed it, ur latest blog is from Kevin Kroeger, product nanager for Spectrio’s retail vertical of business. He shares how brands and retailers — any business entity in fact — must consider the purpose, location, content, ease of use, integration, scalability, and cost to create an informed digital signage strategy.

I’m eager to report on great digital signage wins — whether it’s retail, hospitality, healthcare or entertainment and infotainment. Digital signage is making a huge difference within the customer and shopper and audience experience whether that be at the airport, the school library, the mega entertainment enterprise and of course the workplace. So please reach out with any story ideas.

From 4K displays to facial recognition devices to video walls and content management (just four of the 50-plus topics DST reports on) there are intriguing and interesting stories to tell and tons of opportunities to share success from every entity involved in digital signage.

Let’s make it happen!
