Crawford County, Arkansas residents now have improved access to legal resources through a self-service kiosk placed at the Van Buren Public Library, according to a Times Record report. This initiative, led by the Arkansas Access to Justice Foundation in collaboration with the Court Improvement Program and the Administrative Office of the Courts, aims to equip all courthouses in Arkansas with kiosks.
The kiosk provides a user-friendly platform for residents to:
- Conveniently access court records, print exhibits and locate essential court forms and fact sheets.
- Explore legal aid resources, including applications, video explainers and FAQs designed to simplify legal concepts.
«Especially in rural areas, with limited access to attorneys and internet, these resources are crucial,» Abby Brenneman, executive director of the AATJ, told the news outlet. «The free kiosk ensures financial barriers don’t prevent residents from seeking legal help.»
Crawford County residents can also access these resources online at ARCourtKiosk.org. The AATJ has placed kiosks in 54 counties since March 2023, including courthouses and public libraries.
