365 Retail Markets, a company specializing in unattended retail technology, has launched MarketSight, an anti-theft add-on for its MM6 Mini kiosks, according to a press release.
The security solution utilizes AI to count items passing under the scanner during purchases and compares that count to the items in the virtual cart. If a discrepancy is detected, the system alerts the user in real time and flags the incident in back-end software for operator review if unresolved.
MarketSight aims to prevent under-ringing and reduce shrinkage for food service operators by prompting shoppers to self-correct before checkout.
«Theft has always been a perceived concern for food service operators since the introduction of micro markets,» Boris Amegadjie, chief product officer at 365 Retail Markets, said in the release. «365’s approach addresses those concerns in an innovative way, adding one more tool to their loss prevention toolkit. With MarketSight, we’re giving our operators better insight, security, and peace of mind.»
The MarketSight camera arm is designed for easy installation on MM6 Mini kiosks and is available for both new and existing units. Its design is intended to be noticeable to consumers without obstructing the screen view.
