Choice Hotels International has partnered with Mews, a cloud-based property management system provider, to enhance revenue generation beyond room bookings and streamline operations for its franchisees outside the U.S.
Mews’ technology extends to kiosks, offering guests self-service options for check-in, check-out and potentially accessing and paying for ancillary services such as meeting rooms, co-working spaces and spa facilities.
The integration of Mews’ software with Choice’s choiceEDGE reservation system aims to capture more non-room revenue and improve rate accuracy across its 1,258 international properties, encompassing approximately 142,000 rooms, according to a Skift report.
The collaboration will enable synchronization of reservations, rates and inventory across all systems and channels, eliminating manual data entry and reducing errors.
«Ancillary revenue is no longer a side note for hoteliers. It’s a core part of the guest experience strategy,» Margitte Verkruijsse-Reiner, senior director of ownership management at Mews, told the news outlet. «Mews Spaces unlocks the full potential of a property, not just the rooms. It allows properties to offer flexible booking options, from meeting rooms, co-working spaces, parking spots, and day beds in a spa.»
