Global sports retailer Lids has launched its redesigned retail store model, emphasizing an enhanced shopping experience centered on customization, according to a press release. The redesign features a modernized layout, an expanded «Custom Zone» with interactive «Build-A-Cap» kiosks and a broader selection of localized and exclusive products, with a particular focus on fashion headwear. This redesign aims to provide customers with more opportunities to express their individual style.
The reinvented «Custom Zone» will offer shoppers more personalization options for hats and jerseys, including a new hat-curving machine at select locations. The «Build-A-Cap» kiosks will allow customers to digitally design their own headwear in-store. The concept also includes a curated «T-Shirt Wall» with localized apparel, a dedicated «Kids’ Corner» and an increased selection of headwear accessories. The rollout of the store format began in April across 20 initial locations nationwide.
«Customization has always been at the heart of our brand, and this new store design takes it to the next level,» Bob Durda, president of Lids, said in the release. «We’re offering more ways for customers to make their gear uniquely theirs — whether it’s stitching, patching or curving. This rollout represents our commitment to a dynamic, customer-centric experience where every visit feels personal, engaging and tailored to each individual.»
