Convenience store operator EG America, the parent company of chains including Cumberland Farms and Kwik Shop, is installing ecoATM mobile device trade-in kiosks in select locations.
The kiosks allow customers to recycle used smartphones and other mobile devices, regardless of condition, in exchange for immediate payment, according to a Chain Store Age report. The devices are then either refurbished or recycled.
«This partnership allows our customers to easily and sustainably turn in their old and used devices and be compensated instantly,» Nick Unkovic, chief transformation and strategy officer, EG America, told the news outlet.
The company initiated the rollout in early 2025 and plans to install up to 500 kiosks across its 1,500 U.S. stores. This move marks the first time ecoATM kiosks will be available in convenience stores.
