The University of Arkansas has installed a vending machine on its Fayetteville campus that dispenses free Narcan and fentanyl overdose prevention kits, along with other health and wellness products.

Located at the southeast entrance of the Pat Walker Health Center, the machine is accessible 24/7 to university students, faculty and staff, according to a 4029 News report.

The initiative is part of Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin’s «One Pill Can Kill» campaign, launched in October 2024 to address the opioid crisis among young adults. To obtain the free Narcan, users are required to fill out a short voucher with their zip code.

«This machine explicitly can disperse free Narcan and free fentanyl harm prevention kits,» Brian Carter, assistant director for marketing and communications at the Pat Walker Health Center, told the news outlet. Carter also noted it is the first health and wellness vending machine on the University of Arkansas Fayetteville campus.
