Pilot Company, General Motors and EVgo’s collaborative electric vehicle fast-charging network has surpassed 130 locations in over 25 states, according to a press release. This expansion aims to enhance long-distance EV travel by providing convenient and reliable charging options along major highways and popular travel corridors.

The network, established in 2022, is on track to install up to 2,000 fast-charging stalls at up to 500 Pilot and Flying J travel centers. These locations offer amenities such as lounges, Wi-Fi, restaurants and convenience stores, along with high-power chargers capable of delivering up to 350 kW, enabling fast charging times.

«As we strive to be the leading energy and experience provider people rely on to fuel their journeys, our travel centers are uniquely able to fill a need for EV owners who are looking to make the most of their miles,» Shannon Sturgil, senior vice president of alternative fuels at Pilot, said in the release.

The expansion comes as EV sales continue to rise, with 2024 seeing 1.3 million EV sales in the U.S. The companies aim to support this growth by continuing to develop charging infrastructure along key travel routes.
