The Genesee County Jail in Flint, Michigan, has implemented the state’s first Crime Stoppers kiosk in its lobby, designed to generate anonymous tips for unsolved and missing person cases, according to a Mid Michigan Now report. The kiosk features QR codes that link to the Crime Stoppers tip submission page, allowing visitors to provide information while remaining anonymous.

Captain Jason Murphy of the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office emphasized the kiosk’s potential to provide crucial leads, telling the news outlet, «Any new tip we get helps us and we’re willing to look into anything.»

The kiosk also displays information about community events, and its placement in the jail lobby is intended to reach individuals waiting to visit inmates.
