Santa Clara County suspect arrested for $11K self-checkout scam

A suspect in Santa Clara County, California, was arrested for allegedly stealing over $11,000 worth of merchandise from multiple Target stores, according to a Sierra Sun Times report. The suspect is accused of swapping price tags on items at self-checkout registers.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office Retail Theft Task Force investigated the suspect’s activities, tracking their movements and identifying the stolen goods, which were subsequently sold online.

The suspect has a history of arrests for fraud and burglary in other states.
