LG has been named by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation as the official technology partner of the Meryl Streep Center for the Performing Arts.

According to a press release, the deal means LG will be the exclusive cinema LED display provider for the Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson Screening Room at the venue, which features a 200-inch 4K LG Miraclass DVLED Cinema Screen.

The display features 24-bit color processing, self-emissive LED pixels, 68.7 billion colors and near-perfect blacks.

The Meryl Streep Center also features 86-inch LG UHD «high-haze» displays in the lobby and main classroom, along with five 65-inch UHD displays in the reception, programs, production, voiceover and greenroom areas of the venue.

Additionally, the Don LaFontaine Voiceover Lab’s two solo recording booths feature 27-inch LG UltraFine Monitors, while the editing bay includes a 55-inch LG One:Quick Works All-In-One Meeting and Screenshare Solution.

Moving iMage Technologies (MiT), a value-added reseller and integrator, helped with the LG Miraclass installation using its TruSquare cinema-centric direct-view LED frame, along with integrating multichannel audio in the screening room to compliment the LG display technology.

«LG is proud to support the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s education mission as the exclusive display provider for the incredible new Meryl Streep Center,» David Bacher, LG Electronics USA’s head of business solutions marketing, said in the release. «In addition to the dozen LG displays throughout the center, the screening room’s LG Miraclass screen provides a cutting-edge cinema presentation space that eliminates the need for a projection booth and creates new seating and cinema design options.»

Courtney B. Vance, president and chairman of the board of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation,

The Meryl Streep Center «opens new opportunities for our industry to collaborate and strengthen community bonds, and the Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson Screening Room is the star attraction,» Courtney B.
