Aberdeen Gift Card launches self-service kiosk in Scotland

The Aberdeen Gift Card, a local initiative in Scotland, has launched a self-service kiosk in Union Square, according to an Aberdeen Business News Report.

This marks the first of its kind in Scotland, offering a convenient way for shoppers to purchase gift cards.

The kiosk, which accepts payments in pounds sterling, allows customers to select gift card amounts ranging from £10 to £500 ($12.60 to $630). The cards can then be spent at over 300 local businesses in Aberdeen.

The initiative aims to boost the local economy by encouraging shoppers to spend money within the city. Since its launch in 2020, the Aberdeen Gift Card has injected over £3 million ($3.78 million) into the local economy.

The self-service kiosk is part of a broader effort to make the gift card more accessible to shoppers. It joins existing sales points at the Bon Accord Centre and Trinity Centre.
