Split-Flap TV, a provider of retro-style digital signage redolent of 1960s split flap displays, has been tapped by the United States House of Representatives to provide digital signage, according to a press release.
The partnership was developed with the Congressional Staff Academy, which provides support services for staff of the House of Representatives.
The displays will be used to provide content including resources, training, and professional development along with scheduling info in office spaces and hallways.
While attracted to traditional split flap displays, the staff found them cost prohibitive, leading them to try Split-Flap TV, which uses digital signage to replicate the split flap effect.
For the physical display, the staff leveraged a 65-inch TCL TV with embedded Google TV.
«It is going great,» a spokesperson for the Congressional Staff Academy said in the release. «My boss loves it! Colleagues think it’s different and love the unique design.»
