American Heart Association, GBU Life partner to bring mobile CPR training kiosk to Pittsburgh

The American Heart Association and GBU Life are teaming up to increase access to lifesaving CPR training in Pittsburgh.

To address the low bystander CPR rates, particularly in under served communities, a mobile Hands-Only CPR Kiosk will be placed at The Kingsley Association in Pittsburgh’s East End, according to an AHA news report.

The kiosk will rotate to different locations throughout Pittsburgh over the next three years, aiming to empower residents with the skills to act during a cardiac emergency. According to the American Heart Association, immediate CPR can double or even triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival.

«We need more companies to commit to making CPR awareness and education a permanent fixture in all communities across our region,» Leeanna McKibben, board chairperson for the American Heart Association Greater Pittsburgh, said in the news release.

The Hands-Only CPR Kiosk provides easy-to-follow instructions for chest compressions, a crucial skill that can be learned in just 90 seconds.
