Emobi, a developer in EV charging infrastructure, has launched a streamlined plug and charge solution called JustPlug, according to a press release.
This technology aims to boost EV adoption by making charging easier and more accessible through advanced charging kiosks.
«Current plug and charge technology is limited by infrastructure constraints, especially for Level 2 chargers and older hardware,» Lin Sun Fa, co-founder and CEO of Emobi, said in the release. «Our approach with JustPlug doesn’t replace the existing implementations but instead complements them. We’re expanding the accessibility of a secure plug and charge within the ISO 15118 standard without the need for costly upgrades or disruptions, creating a solution that’s both flexible and future-proof.»
Unlike traditional plug and charge, JustPlug utilizes cloud technology to overcome limitations in existing charging kiosks. This allows a wider range of EVs to seamlessly connect and charge automatically upon plugging in, eliminating the need for apps or cards.
Emobi’s JustPlug solution adheres to the ISO 15118 standard for encryption and certificate policy.
