PassageWay’s TfL service status digital signs recognised for innovation in public transport

PassageWay’s TfL Service Status digital signs have been recognised by the Rail Innovation Group (RIG) under its peer-reviewed Recognised Innovation Scheme. This accolade highlights PassageWay’s contribution to enhancing user experience in public transportation through innovative technology.

PassageWay’s digital signs offer a modern alternative to traditional static signage, providing live, local multi-modal transport information. This approach has proven to be highly adaptable and scalable, with over 300 installations across London in various locations including workplaces, hospitals and high street totems.

The system leverages cutting-edge technology to promote accessibility and convenience in public transport. By making real-time information readily available, PassageWay is making it easier for organizations to support sustainable travel choices for their employees and visitors.

A key aspect of PassageWay’s success is its focus on user-centric design. The company has applied Nudge Theory to encourage public transport usage, aligning perfectly with the goals of promoting sustainable urban mobility.

Chris Johns, Founder & Director of PassageWay, told RailUK.com, “It’s fantastic to receive this peer recognition from the Rail Innovation Group. The recognition from our peers within the marketplace reflects the commercial value of our innovation and its contribution to a thriving, innovative public transport technology sector.”

PassageWay operates as a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform, integrating multiple data feeds with custom designs, monitoring, and SLA managed support. The signs are distributed as URLs for display on internet-connected digital signage screens, compatible with both portrait and landscape orientations.
