The University of Texas recently deployed a digital art piece build by Design Communications Ltd. with LED video technology by SNA Displays for The Moody Center venue in Austin. SNA provided its BOLD Interior display for the venue, which is located in the Norwest section of the Dell Concourse, according to a press release.
The display measures 9.5-feet tall and 66-feet and 2-inches wide. It features audio and reacts to the movements of users with cameras. SNA Displays also provided louver panels so its cover could be mounted in front of the LED face. The substrate is also removable for front service.
«One challenge the project presented was discreetly integrating the array of infrared cameras within the wall itself,» Jeff Grantz, director of creative technologies at DCL, said in the release. «These cameras were used to detect the movements of people in front of the display, enabling Gensler’s team to develop a variety of gesturally interactive animations that help activate the space and engage visitors.»
