In an effort to upgrade its digital communication, Orlando International Airport plans to unveil digital signage displays in its new Terminal C, manufactured by Synect, according to a company press release.
The displays are meant to welcome, engage and assist airport passengers from ticketing to gates and other areas.
Video walls and connected digital displays will be set up throughout the terminal. Smart passenger communication includes automatically updated dynamic travel information. The information will respond to airport data in real-time and will be presented inside an ultra-high-definition video.
The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) and Synect are developing the content for September 2022 when the Terminal C facility opens.
The content strategy includes live-action video footage of Orlando and the Central Florida region, animations, wayfinding, changing travel data, seasonal celebrations and more. Approximately 874 connected digital displays will play the content across the airport.
«We put the focus on the passenger in every design decision at Terminal C, which is the result of extensive airport communication innovation between GOAA and Synect,» Tom Draper, GOAA chief of operations, said in the release. «The program will help engage passengers at the major touchpoints of their journey while reflecting real-time airport activity including estimated wait times.»
