Fastenal, the Winona, Minnesota based provider of wholesale distribution of industrial and construction supplies and industrial vending services, has acquired a building in Winona, Minnesota that housed Badger Equipment Co., according to a winonapost.com report. Fastenal acquired the property for $1.8 million in late April, according to the Winona County recorder.
Fastenal did not respond to a request for comment from the Winona Post or Kiosk Marketplace.
Badger Equipment — owned by Manitex International Inc., a global manufacturer of engineered lifting solutions — made earth moving equipment and railroad construction machinery.
A Manitex spokesperson told the Winona Post that 15 employees will be laid off at the facility in the coming months, but some will be retained to support Manitex operations in the area.
