Vending got some unusual attention recently when a Hooters employee revealed on Tik Tok that waitresses have to buy their tights for $5 in a bathroom hosiery vending machine, according to a New York Post report. The video got 4.7 million views.

The machine in the video is wall mounted, has a Peavey Hosiery logo, a bill acceptor and a PayRange sticker indicating it accepts mobile payments through PayRange.

A waitress using the user name @kenjee posted the video and demonstrated the process of buying the hosiery in different skin tone colors from the machine. She inserted a $5 bill, then chose the size and skin tone color.

The report sparked a backlash from people who objected to the waitresses having to pay for the tights.
